It may or may not work depending on which part of the country you visit. Here is my take from the experience: Be very careful and specific to choose a non-Swiss broadband sim in Switzerland. The sim and the my-fi device connected to internet alright when I came back to UK, which proved that they did not develop any technical fault in Montreux and Geneva. I tried both 4G and 3G options, but nothing worked. The my-fi device was working fine, but the Vodafone sim did not connect to internet, not even once. When I tried to use internet in Montreux and Geneva there was no joy. But that was the only occasion it worked. I was overjoyed to find that I could transfer all the photos (1.5 GB of data) from my phone in 45 mins or so using the my-fi device. My mobile phone started malfunctioning and it appeared that I needed to transfer all the photos from there to the cloud storage before the phone died. On a walking trail in Interlaken the moment of test came. The idea was to keep the system ready-to-use before I started out of UK. I chose Vodafone's data-only sim with 15 GB data and global roaming option to use with my TP-Link 4GLTE my-fi device. After some research on the internet it appeared that an unlocked my-fi device with a data-only sim would be a good and affordable choice to access internet. I was aware that Switzerland is outside the EU and my UK mobile call and data allowance would not be valid. I visited Interlaken, Montreux and Geneva in July, 2019 from the UK. ![]()
